The smallest and the least expensive display ad we offer is a half-page mono-color ad. We also have full-page, 4-color options at higher prices. For all the available options, please check here.

Do we need to pay the artwork production fee?
   
Yes, When you ask ALC to produce your advertisement, a production fee (including English-Japanese translation fee) will be charged in addition to the space insertion fee. Regarding Production fees, click here.

 
We have advertised with ALC before. Can we use the same ad for ALC's upcoming publication?
   
Yes. Once you advertise with us, we keep digital data files of your ad for a few years. So, if you would like to run the same ad without any changes in ALC's other guides, you can do that. In this case, only a space insertion fee will be charged (the artwork publication fee is not charged).

 
Would I be charged for making changes to the ad?
   
Yes. However, prices vary depending on the amount and type of changes. While minor changes are considered as up to three changes, major changes are considered as four changes and above. (changing images including photo(s) or logo, would be considered as major changes)

 
Do you have a translation service?
   
Yes. We can translate your English advertisement text into Japanese. The translation fee is included in the production fee. Please note, we only offer a translation service relevant to the production.

 
How can I place an order?
   
Please click here to print out the space insertion order form. Or, feel free to contact us and we will fax it to you. If you have the order form at hand, please fill it out, sign it, and fax it back to us prior to the order deadline.

 
What types of discounts do you offer?
   
Bookings of advertisement space over USD2,500, CAD3,000, GBP1,350 or JPY287,500 per annum on a single order form will qualify for a 10% discount. Bookings of over USD3,500, CAD4,000, GBP1,900 or JPY402,500 will qualify for a 20% discount. No discounts are applicable for web ads or production change fees for display ads.

 
Do you offer a special discount for first-time advertisers?
   
No, but our discounts make it possible for you to maximize the cost effectiveness of your advertising fee.

 
What kind of materials do I need to prepare to ask for artwork production?
   
Necessary advertising materials for regular display ads are:
(1)

Advertisement text
Specify the points you wish to emphasize in your ad in point form.
(e.g., advantages of your school/program).

(2) Photo(s)
(3) A logo
*Photos and logos should be in jpeg, tiff or eps format with the resolution of at least 300dpi in appropriate size.
(4) A rough layout
(5) A school/program brochure (as a reference for our production staff)
  * Regarding advertorial, we may ask for additional materials.



 
Can ALC get photos, texts and logos from our school's website to produce artwork?
 
No. For print publication, the resolution of an image should be at least 300dpi. The common resolution of images used on website's are 72 dpi, so the images do not appear clearly in print publication. For more information about artwork production, please contact the following offices.

We have done our artwork production by ourselves. Can we send it by e-mail?
 
Yes, you can send your finished ad by e-mail attachment to the above offices. As for a finished ad, it has to be created and saved with QuarkXpress, Illustrator or InDesign. Together with the file of your finished ad, please send us the separate files of all the images and fonts you used in your finished ad. The images should be saved as eps, jpeg or tiff files, and the resolution should be at least 300dpi for print publication.
We ask you to complete the artwork submission checklist form and fax it to us before you send us the finished artwork.

Do we receive a proof of the ad before going to print?
   

Yes, our production staff will fax you a copy of the advertisement for your approval prior to publication of the guide. You will be asked to sign the proof copy and to fax it back to us for our records.


 
How can I pay for the advertisement fee?
